What to expect from training day
Counterpunch Parkinson's Coach Certification Program helps you build competence and develop the necessary skills needed to effectively run a Counterpunch Parkinson's Program. Over 2 full days, you will be hands-on in a gym environment and in a classroom setting. In the gym, you will cover the basics of boxing where you will focus on safety, technique, and drills. In a classroom setting, you will learn about different types of Parkinson's Disease and how their symptoms may differ, the effects medications may have on your participants, as well as be able to identify and address the many difficulties your clients will face. We finish the program with a practical application of the boxing techniques used to develop a session where you will be able to run our Counterpunch Parkinson's through a session.
All participants will leave as better boxing instructors with a massive range of new skills for their clients and themselves; more knowledgeable on the movement patterns necessary to run an effective program and see results with their clients and how to facilitate these exercises with a population which struggles with movement; and why Parkinson's affects their clients in the way it does, how to speak confidently to their members about Parkinson's and be able to better judge the abilities of their clients. This course is designed to create world-class Counterpunch Parkinson's Coaches. |
